Expansion Joint

Sewage expansion joints are manufactured according to the following standards:

INSO 9119-1  and  EN 1329-1

The Expansion Socket (or Expansion Joint) is essentially a type of fitting used in a building’s sewage drainage system to provide flexibility. The use of an expansion joint, given that one end connects via a push-fit (O-ring) and the other end connects via solvent cement (glue), prevents damage to the sewage system. This damage often results from thermal expansion/contraction or various shocks/movements applied to the sewage system

Features of the Expansion Socket or Expansion Joint

Knowing the features of this joint will help you make the best and most practical use of this product

In areas where the temperature difference between day and night or across different seasons is significant, the expansion socket or joint absorbs the increase or decrease in pipe length that occurs due to temperature changes. The presence of this joint relieves pressure from the pipes. One way to reinforce a building, especially its piping system, against earthquakes and ground subsidence is to use an expansion socket or joint. This product neutralizes, as much as possible, the stress caused by natural disasters on the piping system. Due to low water pressure, many buildings use a motor or water pump, which creates vibration and pressure in the pipes. The expansion socket neutralizes these vibrations and protects the building’s piping system from wear and tear. The variety in the design of the expansion joint makes this product usable in two different types of piping systems. For example, one end is push-fit (using an O-ring) and the other end is connected to the piping system with cement or threading. The expansion socket or joint comes in various types, and their application differs based on their material

Types of Expansion Sockets and Their Applications

Rubber Expansion Socket: Suitable for water systems and municipal Urban sewage pipes due to good pressure absorption. Metal Expansion Socket or Joint (Steel or Aluminum): Suitable for high-pressure and high-temperature systems due to its resistance. PVC Expansion Socket: Suitable for municipal sewage plumbing and cold water systems.
