In building wastewater drainage systems, a coupling (commonly referred to as a “bushen” in local terminology) is sometimes used to connect two male-ended pipes.
This is a very simple yet highly effective and essential component.
In the past, connecting two male ends in sewage piping systems was traditionally done using heat or thermal fusion. However, this method has now become obsolete, as it poses significant technical issues within the sewage system.
Moreover, it is explicitly prohibited under the National Building Regulations, further highlighting the importance of using proper couplings for such connections.
